What We Offer
- Promotion of Business Relationships
| |
Membership in NAMS offers both manufacturers and ship suppliers the opportunity to
develop business relationships through discussion of common issues in the
industry. We are a peer group operating in a narrowly focused distribution of
goods and services to ships. As such, NAMS is central in the fostering of
communications of information and ideas among the members. Click here for membership

| |
We hold an Annual Spring Convention, in conjunction with the Canadian Shipsupply and Services
Association (CSSA), offering a combination of business sessions, workshops,
manufacturer product exposure, and social events. Business sessions are a combination
of business topic presentations and discussion of industry issues, problems, changes, etc.
A valuable element of the convention is the informal exchange of information and
development of the business contacts with other suppliers and manufacturers.

|
| |
In addition to keeping the membership up to date on industry information, our quarterly
Newsletter is available to manufacturers to publish product information that would be
helpful to ship suppliers. We also focus on distribution ideas and issues that aid both
supplier and manufacturer members.
|
|
| |
Each year we publish a NAMS Membership Directory and distribute it to members, plus
450 U.S. companies and 2200 international companies in the shipping industry. This is a
very cost-effective avenue to promote your company with a listing and an advertisement -
available to both ship suppliers and manufacturers.

Through NAMS, members have the opportunity to join the International Ship Suppliers
Association (ISSA) and receive member benefits, which include:

locations. Your ISSA membership, through NAMS, permits you to attend.
- ISSA publishes a quarterly newsletter, Storing Ship News, which all
ISSA members receive.

From time to time, NAMS offers exclusive service programs to its members when
an opportunity arises. For example, a current program is available with
Airborne Express for package pickup & delivery at favorable prices.

- Voice in Industry Regulations
| |
NAMS' General Counsel, with offices in Washington, D.C. keeps close watch on all
legislative issues, both national and international that could affect ship
shippliers' business operations. Through its General Counsel, NAMS has a voice
in the development of positions on changes in International Law through its
relationship with the U.S. Representatives to IMO-UNCTAD, the International
governing body for Maritime Law. |

The National Association of Wholesale Distributors offers representation to our
members regarding government regulations and affairs and access to various
discounted services.
